Costume Institute Gala Met Ball 2011: Delightful Showing by the Designers

The Costume Institute Gala Met Ball has always been about the London-based designers, and 2011 was no different.

The red carpet was filled with designs from Stella McCartney Collections. The likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna, Rihanna, Eva Mendes, Hailee Steinfeld, Kate Hudson and Naomi Watts were all sporting Stella’s designs.

Kate, who is pregnant, looked extremely radiant in her cream gown. Madonna also appeared astonishing in her silk turquoise gown, which had embellished stars as well.

Alexa Chung wore a dress, which is supposed to be a part of Christopher Kane’s future collection.

Sarah Button, protégé of Alexander McQueen, was also looking a striking figure on the red carpet in her own design. She also designed the (feathery) dresses for Naomi Campbell and Daphne Guinness.
